Your data is located in the "CE Software" folder. * Before installing, you must logout of QuickMail and quit all other QuickMail-related applications. * Upgrading from QuickMail Pro 3.0 QuickMail 3.5.x uses a new addressbook file format. We will automatically migrate your existing addressbook, but any changes made to the addressbook in QuickMail 3.5.x will not be visible when using QuickMail 3.0 (and below). Any changes made after migration to the addressbook in QuickMail 3.0 (and below), will not be visible when using QuickMail 3.5.x. * Upgrading from QuickMail Pro 1.x QuickMail Pro 2.0 and above uses a new file structure. If you are upgrading from QuickMail Pro 1.x, your 1.x mail will be COPIED to the new file structure. Messages sent or received while running 3.5.x will not be accessible by the 1.x client. Additionally, MailManager rules will not be converted. Rules must be manually recreated for QuickMail 3.5.x * If you are running a demo of QuickMail and have purchased a full-working copy, you can activate QuickMail by choosing the "Activate QuickMail..." menu item in the "Help" Menu. * For your convenience, you can register QuickMail by choosing the "Register QuickMail..." menu item in the "Help" Menu. You can re-register at any time. * This version of QuickMail Client requires users who do not use QuickMail Server to purchase an activation key. QuickMail Server users can activate without an activation key by choosing the option to activate using the server. Note: In order to save bandwidth, the client will just delete reported emails with over 1 MB of attachments. * Easy online registration. * New preference to delete attachments folder on quit (to save disk space). * New preference to set QuickMail as the default mail application. * For SMTP-AUTH, now able to use a different Account and Password (instead of just the POP Account and Password). * Able to check pop accounts with "@" in the Account. * Improved networker stability when receiving HTML mails. * Improved interoperability with non-QuickMail SMTP servers (like QMail). * Improved interoperability with anti-virus products (like Norton AntiVirus) . that delete mail messages out from underneath QuickMail. * Improved addressbook performance, memory footprint and stability. * Fixed Templates feature to use the "Templates" folder and not the "Drafts" folder. * Fixed crasher when using templates after deleting the "Templates" folder. * Improved accuracy of quick search of message subjects. * Improved accuracy of message subject sorting. * Improved error dialogs from networker (qmnet32.exe). * Improved handling of mailto: URLs. * Improved handling of https: URLs that contain "@". * Warn and prevent against account names longer than 31 characters. * If a user's "QMData" directory gets deleted, we'll recreate it on startup. * QuickMail Office users no longer have to activate. * A non-admin user can now use QuickMail even if it was installed and registered by an admin user. * Fixed crashers when the user is missing form files (*.FRM). - - - - - - Known Issues * Windows XP SP 2 users will have to unblock the networker (qmnet32.exe) when prompted by the operating system. * Account names cannot be longer than 31 characters. * Messages encoded in UTF-8 may not display properly. * Inline images in HTML mail will not display inline. * Certain anti-virus software can break QuickMail Office features. * Envelope icon in the thread pane changes to "replied" or "forwarded" if you start a reply or forward, but then cancel. * Only the first 58 characters of a message subject will show up in the thread pane, and only the first 58 characters of a message subject will be searched in quick searches, full searches, for sorting, and for client side mail filters. * Printing HTML email messages from the "message peek" in the main mail window will fail to print the HTML. To work around this, print from the stand alone message window. * QuickMail is a LDAPv2 client, and will not work with directory servers that only support LDAPv3. * Return receipts are not triggered by the "message peek" window. They are only triggered by the stand alone message window. * "Address Book Updates" are not triggered by the "message peek" window.
